Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehab facility due to a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related crime that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it's strongly advised that the individual try everything they're able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be totally eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the alcohol and drug treatment center which has been ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
