DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug rehab as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be ordered to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of staying out from the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This can certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence in the future. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
