Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of alcohol and drug treatment program on account of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This can occur for instance if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense which has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol treatment center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered by the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they're able to to get the most from this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the alcohol and drug rehab program that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive powerful treatment.
