Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab program due to alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will occur for instance if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other kind of drug related offense which has led the court to think the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab facility as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered through the judge it's well advised that the individual try everything they can to benefit from this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug treatment program which has been ordered for them. Very first time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
