DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug treatment programs are generally there on their own accord, but generally in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of staying out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while intoxicated down the road. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
