DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation programs are either there by their own choice, but usually in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while drunk or high later on. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
