Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab program as a result of alcohol or drug related crime. This can occur for instance if a person is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered by the judge it is well advised that the individual try everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the drug rehab center which was ordered for them. New offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
