DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders might be ordered to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which set off their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while under the influence down the road. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
