DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug and alcohol treatment facilities are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug rehab due to a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders may be required to go to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have far better odds of remaining out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while drunk or high later on. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
