Dual Diagnosis - Friendship

Dual diagnosis can be a circumstance whereby two independent disorders are present, and most typically denotes a co-occurring drug or alcohol use and mental health disorder. A dual diagnosis might help an individual who might not have been capable of being helped before, put an end to drug or alcohol abuse by being accurately diagnosed and helped. Their mental health disorder could have been misdiagnosed, undiagnosed, or mistreated that could have triggered and led to their substance abuse issues. Establishing the truth that someone is actually a dual diagnosis client not just helps establish an efficient treatment course for them, but will also help clients better understand what led to their drug abuse and how to prevent it later on. Addressing dual diagnosis can be a more extensive process than the usual typical drug rehab program, and people who have a dual diagnosis might be required to take part in an extensive aftercare program which might include proper medical support along with continued rehab services. Being identified as having co-occurring disorders doesn't imply that the individual must be medicated for the rest of their lives either, and in reality many people who have a dual diagnosis experience more effective outcomes when treated holistically and when alternative treatment methods are employed.
