Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug rehab program because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for example when someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the court to think the individual has any kind of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered from the court it's wise that the individual try everything they are able to to take full advantage of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehabilitation facility that is ordered for them. First-time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who do experience treatment in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
