DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehab facilities are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol treatment due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that people who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of remaining out of the courts than those who find themselves fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug treatment centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while under the influence later on. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
