Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a result of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example if someone else is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to think the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the court it's well advised that the individual try everything they are able to to get the most from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol treatment facility which has been ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients that do experience treatment in place of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
