Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug rehabilitation center because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for instance if someone else is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other type of drug related crime which has led the court to believe the individual has any type of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered through the judge it is well advised that the individual try everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eradicated or lessened if the individual does well in rehabilitation and completes the drug and alcohol treatment center that has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
