Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a result of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will happen for instance if a person is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or any other kind of drug related crime that has led the court to believe that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it's strongly advised that the individual try everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. First time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that experience rehabilitation in lieu of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
