DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehabilitation centers are either there by their own choice, but generally in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders may be ordered to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which set off their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse should they drive while drunk or high in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
