Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of alcohol and drug treatment facility due to a drug or alcohol related offense. This will happen for example if someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led a legal court to believe the individual has any type of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered by the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and finishes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center which has been ordered for them. First time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab instead of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
