Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol treatment facility because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This can occur for instance if someone else is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense that has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the court it really is well advised that the individual do everything they can to benefit from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in rehab and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment program that is ordered for them. First-time offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
