DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab programs are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from treatment as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for substance abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being forced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. This is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
