Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug rehab program because of alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for example if a person is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime which has led the judge to think that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this approach is ordered from the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they are able to to take full advantage of this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol rehab program that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients that take part in rehab instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehab.
