DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehab programs are either there on their own accord, but usually in alcohol and drug rehabilitation as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders might be ordered to treatment either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that individuals who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of remaining out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehab facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This could truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
