DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol treatment centers are either there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders may be required to go to treatment either in lieu of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from treatment rather than being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for substance abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have greater chances of remaining out from the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be affected by their drug abuse whenever they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
