Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab center as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone else is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related criminal offense which has led the judge to think that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the court it is well advised that the individual do everything they can to make the most of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug rehab facility which was ordered for them. Very first time offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do experience rehabilitation in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or receive other penalties. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective treatment.
