DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehab facilities are generally there by their own choice, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehabilitation due to a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be ordered to rehab either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of remaining out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to be able to address these problems and find resolution for the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will truly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those who may be affected by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence down the road. It is a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
