Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug rehab facility as a result of alcohol or drug related crime. This will happen for example if someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or any other type of drug related crime which has led the court to believe the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the court it's wise that the individual try everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who do experience treatment in place of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Ultimately, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
