DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are either there by their own choice, but usually in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders may be required to go to rehab either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from treatment as opposed to being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these issues and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse if they drive while under the influence in the foreseeable future. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
