Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility as a result of alcohol or drug related crime. This will happen for example when someone is convicted of drunk driving or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to believe the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of taking part in a drug rehab facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the judge it is wise that the individual try everything they can to make the most of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug rehab center that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been determined that criminal justice clients who take part in rehabilitation instead of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehab.
