Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of alcohol and drug rehab program due to a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for instance if someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related offense that has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any sort of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the judge it is well advised that the individual do everything they can to benefit from this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual does well in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol treatment facility that is ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do take part in treatment instead of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
