Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation center as a result of a drug or alcohol related offense. This can occur for instance if a person is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led the judge to believe that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it is strongly advised that the individual try everything they are able to to get the most from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in rehab and completes the alcohol and drug treatment facility that is ordered for them. First time offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that take part in rehabilitation instead of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to time in jail or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehab.
