DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders may be ordered to treatment either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the courts than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be impacted by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while under the influence later on. It's a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
