Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any kind of drug and alcohol treatment facility because of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will happen for example if a person is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, or any other kind of drug related offense which has led the court to think that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in a drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the judge it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. On many occasions, other penalties and consequences could be totally eliminated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the alcohol and drug rehabilitation center that is ordered for them. New offenders are the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
