DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehab due to a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders could be required to go to treatment either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished for their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being forced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehab centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to be able to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be impacted by their drug abuse when they drive while drunk or high down the road. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
