Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of alcohol and drug treatment program on account of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for instance if someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led a legal court to think the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everybody has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation program as a criminal justice client, but when this approach is ordered through the court it's strongly advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this chance. In many cases, other penalties and consequences may be completely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the alcohol and drug treatment facility which was ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who experience treatment in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to incarceration or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients obtain powerful rehabilitation.
