Criminal justice clients are individuals who are in any sort of drug treatment program due to alcohol or drug related criminal offense. This will happen for example when someone is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the judge to believe that the individual has any sort of substance abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug rehab program as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it's well advised that the individual do everything they're able to to get the most from this chance. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be totally eradicated or lessened if the individual succeeds in rehabilitation and completes the drug rehabilitation program that is ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who do experience rehab instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. Ultimately, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients obtain powerful treatment.
