Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug rehab facility as a result of a drug or alcohol related crime. This will occur for example if a person is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other type of drug related crime that has led a legal court to think that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug and alcohol rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it is strongly advised that the individual do everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences could be entirely eradicated or lessened when the individual succeeds in treatment and finishes the alcohol and drug treatment program that has been ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation instead of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to jail time or similar consequences. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive powerful rehabilitation.
