Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug treatment center due to a drug or alcohol related offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related crime which has led a legal court to believe that the individual has any type of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug treatment center as a criminal justice client, however, if this approach is ordered through the court it is well advised that the individual try everything they are able to to benefit from this chance. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences could be completely eliminated or lessened if the individual succeeds in treatment and completes the drug treatment center which was ordered for them. First-time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who experience rehabilitation in lieu of other penalties have much lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the end, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
