DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug rehabilitation due to a mandated order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehab as an alternative to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been proven that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these issues in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This may truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug abuse when they drive while under the influence down the road.
