DUI/DWI clients who are involved in drug rehab centers are either there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, specifically first-time offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either instead of other consequences or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as an alternative to being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been verified that those who are treated for drug abuse issues as opposed to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of staying out of the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their substance abuse. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while intoxicated in the future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
