DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug rehab programs are generally there on their own accord, but more often than not in drug and alcohol rehabilitation as part of a mandated court order. DUI/DWI clients, specifically initial offenders might be required to go to rehab either in lieu of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients may benefit greatly from rehab rather than being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been established that those who are treated for substance abuse issues rather than other penalties being forced upon them have much better chances of staying out from the court system than those who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug and alcohol treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse drugs and alcohol, so that they can address these problems and find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which set off their drug abuse. This can truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their drug abuse whenever they drive while intoxicated in the future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
