Criminal justice clients are people who are in any type of drug rehab program because of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will happen for example if someone else is convicted of a DUI or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related criminal offense that has led the court to think that the individual has any sort of drug abuse issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in an alcohol and drug treatment program as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered by the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they're able to to get the most from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences might be totally eliminated or lessened when the individual does well in rehabilitation and finishes the alcohol and drug rehab facility that has been ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who take part in rehabilitation instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who are ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves the court system both money and time when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
