Criminal justice clients are those who are in any type of drug and alcohol rehab facility due to a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will happen for instance if someone else is convicted of a DUI or DWI, or for any other type of drug related crime that has led the judge to believe the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, but when this option is ordered from the court it is strongly advised that the individual try everything they're able to to make the most of this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences can be entirely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and completes the drug rehab center that is ordered for them. New offenders would be the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients who take part in rehab in lieu of other consequences have much lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to time in jail or similar consequences.
