DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug treatment facilities are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug treatment as part of a mandatory order from the court. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be required to go to rehab either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the court system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse drugs and alcohol, to enable them to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances inside their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use whenever they drive while drunk or high later on. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
