Criminal justice clients are those who are in any sort of drug and alcohol treatment program due to alcohol or drug related offense. This will occur for example if someone is found guilty of drunk driving or DWI, or for any other type of drug related criminal offense that has led the judge to believe the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everyone has the option of getting involved in a drug rehab center as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the judge it's wise that the individual try everything they are able to to make the most of this opportunity. In many cases, other penalties and consequences can be totally eliminated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center which was ordered for them. First time offenders will be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been proven that criminal justice clients that do take part in rehabilitation in place of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than people who find themselves ordered to prison time or similar consequences. Eventually, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective treatment.
