Criminal justice clients are people who are in any sort of drug treatment center because of a drug or alcohol related criminal offense. This will occur for example when someone is found guilty of driving under the influence or DWI, or for any other kind of drug related offense which has led the judge to think that the individual has any kind of drug or alcohol use issue. Not everybody has the option of taking part in an alcohol and drug treatment facility as a criminal justice client, but if this option is ordered from the court it's well advised that the individual do everything they can to take full advantage of this opportunity. Oftentimes, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eliminated or lessened in the event the individual succeeds in rehab and completes the drug treatment facility which has been ordered for them. Very first time offenders are the most probable criminal justice clients because it has been established that criminal justice clients who do take part in rehab in lieu of other penalties have significantly lower recidivism rates than those who find themselves ordered to prison time or receive other penalties. Ultimately, it saves the court system both time and expense when criminal justice clients receive effective rehabilitation.
