DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug treatment centers are generally there on their own accord, but most of the time in alcohol and drug treatment due to a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly initial offenders might be ordered to treatment either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished because of their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been established that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have much better chances of remaining out from the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This will certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but those that may be impacted by their substance abuse should they drive while intoxicated down the road.
