DUI/DWI clients who're involved in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers are generally there by their own choice, but more often than not in drug rehab as part of a mandated court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders could possibly be ordered to rehab either in place of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehab instead of being punished for their crimes, and so can the court system. It has been proven that individuals who are treated for drug abuse issues as an alternative to other penalties being enforced upon them have far better odds of staying out of the courts than those who are fined, ordered to incarceration, etc. In alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers DUI/DWI clients can determine why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues and find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug abuse. This will certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while intoxicated down the road.
