DUI/DWI clients who're involved in drug treatment centers are generally there by their own choice, but usually in drug rehab due to a mandatory court order. DUI/DWI clients, particularly first-time offenders may be required to go to rehabilitation either in lieu of other penalties or as part of their sentence. DUI/DWI clients can benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been verified that people who are treated for substance abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have greater odds of staying out from the court system than those people who are fined, ordered to prison time, etc. In drug rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can ascertain why they abuse alcohol and drugs, to enable them to address these issues in order to find resolution for the actual conditions and circumstances in their lives which prompt their substance abuse. This will truly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people who may be affected by their drug or alcohol use when they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. This is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
