DUI/DWI clients that are taking part in drug rehabilitation centers are either there on their own accord, but generally in drug and alcohol rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially first-time offenders could be ordered to rehabilitation either in place of other consequences or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation as opposed to being punished because of their crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that people who are treated for drug or alcohol use issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have much better odds of remaining out from the courts than those people who are fined, ordered to jail time, etc. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse drugs and alcohol, in order to address these problems in order to find resolution to the actual conditions and circumstances within their lives which prompt their drug or alcohol use. This could certainly save lives, not only the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use should they drive while intoxicated in the foreseeable future. It is a real second chance for DUI/DWI clients.
