DUI/DWI clients who're taking part in drug and alcohol rehab programs are either there on their own accord, but usually in alcohol and drug rehab as part of a mandatory court ruling. DUI/DWI clients, especially initial offenders could be required to go to treatment either instead of other penalties or as a part of a sentence. DUI/DWI clients will benefit greatly from rehabilitation instead of being punished for his or her crimes, and so can the judicial system. It has been determined that those who are treated for drug abuse issues instead of other penalties being enforced upon them have far better chances of staying out of the court system than people who find themselves fined, ordered to time in jail, etc. In alcohol and drug treatment facilities DUI/DWI clients can establish why they abuse alcohol and drugs, so that they can address these problems and find resolution to the actual situations and circumstances within their lives which trigger their drug or alcohol use. This may certainly save lives, not just the lives of the DUI/DWI clients, but people that may be affected by their drug or alcohol use if they drive while drunk or high in the foreseeable future. It's a real second opportunity for DUI/DWI clients.
