Criminal justice clients are those who are in any kind of alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility due to alcohol or drug related crime. This will occur for instance if someone is convicted of driving under the influence or DWI, and for any other kind of drug related crime which has led a legal court to think that the individual has any kind of drug abuse issue. Not every person has the option of getting involved in a drug rehabilitation facility as a criminal justice client, however, if this option is ordered through the judge it is wise that the individual do everything they can to get the most from this opportunity. Most of the time, other penalties and consequences may be entirely eradicated or lessened in the event the individual does well in treatment and finishes the drug and alcohol treatment center which was ordered for them. New offenders would be the most likely criminal justice clients because it has been verified that criminal justice clients who take part in treatment instead of other consequences have significantly lower recidivism rates than those people who are ordered to incarceration or receive other penalties. In the long run, it saves a legal court system both time and money when criminal justice clients obtain effective rehabilitation.
